Research Fellow, UNU-WIDER

Eva-Maria Egger is an applied economist holding a PhD from the University of Sussex, UK. She is a WIDER Research Fellow based in Mozambique where she also works as technical advisor for poverty assessment to the Ministry of Economics and Finance. Her research focuses on rural development, migration, climate change and labor markets. Eva-Maria has published her research in IZA Journal of Migration and Development, Journal of Development Effectiveness, IDS Bulletin and contributed to book chapters and policy reports, such as the Rural Development Report 2019 – Creating Opportunities for Rural Youth of the International Fund for Agricultural Development. She has research and field work experience in Brazil, Ghana, Peru, South Africa and now Mozambique. 

 

Eva-Maria Egger est économiste et titulaire d'un doctorat de l'Université du Sussex, Royaume-Uni. Elle est chercheuse associée à UNU-WIDER et basée au Mozambique où elle travaille également en tant que conseillère technique pour l'évaluation de la pauvreté auprès du ministère de l'Économie et des Finances. Ses recherches portent sur le développement rural, la migration, le changement climatique et les marchés du travail. Eva-Maria a publié ses recherches dans l'IZA Journal of Migration and Development, le Journal of Development Effectiveness, l'IDS Bulletin et a contribué à des chapitres de livres et à des rapports politiques, tels que le Rapport sur le développement rural 2019 - Créer des opportunités pour les jeunes ruraux du Fonds international de développement agricole. Elle a une expérience de recherche et de travail sur le terrain au Brésil, au Ghana, au Pérou, en Afrique du Sud et au Mozambique.

Eva-Maria ha publicado su investigación en IZA Journal of Migration and Development, Journal of Development Effectiveness, IDS Bulletin y ha contribuido a capítulos de libros e informes de políticas, como el Informe de Desarrollo Rural 2019 - Creación de oportunidades para la juventud rural del Fondo Internacional para la Agricultura Desarrollo. Tiene experiencia en investigación y trabajo de campo en Brasil, Ghana, Perú, Sudáfrica y ahora Mozambique.
